IV Therapy & NAD+

IV Therapy & NAD+ at Relax Med Aesthetics

IV therapy delivers fluids and selected nutrients directly into the bloodstream through a small cannula placed in a vein. Our options include nutrient infusions and NAD+, with suitability assessed according to your health, needs and the formulation being considered.

How it works

Direct delivery through a vein

A small cannula is placed in a vein, usually in your arm, and connected to an infusion line. Fluids and the selected ingredients enter your bloodstream at a controlled rate, bypassing digestion.

Direct delivery does not automatically make an infusion more beneficial than food, oral supplements or drinking fluids. We assess whether an IV is appropriate for your situation.

Assessment comes first

We review your medical history, medications, allergies and any relevant test results before recommending treatment. Heart or kidney conditions, pregnancy and certain medications can affect suitability.

Persistent fatigue or feeling run down may need investigation before an infusion is considered.

Our infusion options

IV nutrient therapy

Different formulations contain different combinations of fluids and nutrients. We explain the ingredients, intended purpose and relevant risks of the available options before treatment.

IV nutrients can have a role in specific medical situations, but evidence for broad wellness benefits in otherwise healthy people is limited.

NAD+: understanding its role

NAD+ stands for nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, a molecule naturally present in your cells. It helps enzymes carry out processes involved in energy metabolism and cellular maintenance.

NAD+ infusions deliver this compound intravenously. Although its role in the body is well established, research has not yet established that IV NAD+ reliably improves energy, mental clarity or longevity.

We discuss the evidence, uncertainties and suitability before recommending it.

Sessions & aftercare

What your appointment involves

After assessment, our team places the cannula and begins the infusion at the prescribed rate. You remain seated while we monitor your response.

Tell us immediately about pain or burning at the IV site, nausea, dizziness, chest discomfort or any other unexpected sensation.

How long to allow

Infusion time varies with the formulation, dose and rate you tolerate. NAD+ appointments may require longer than other infusions. We confirm the expected duration when arranging your appointment.

After your infusion

A small bruise or tenderness may develop where the cannula was placed. Follow our instructions on caring for the site and returning to your routine.

Continue your usual meals and appropriate fluid intake unless your clinician has advised otherwise. An infusion does not replace ongoing nutrition, sleep or prescribed treatment.

When to contact us

Contact our team for increasing redness, warmth, swelling, pain or discharge at the IV site, or if you develop fever or feel unwell.

Seek emergency care for difficulty breathing, chest pain, fainting or swelling of the lips, tongue or throat.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

How do I choose an infusion?

Start with a consultation. Tell us what you’re hoping to address, and we’ll assess whether an infusion is appropriate and explain the available formulations.

Will I feel a difference immediately?

Not necessarily. Your response depends on your starting health, the reason for treatment and the formulation used. An immediate boost is not guaranteed.

Is NAD+ the same as a vitamin drip?

No. NAD+ is a specific compound involved in cellular processes. Vitamin infusions contain selected vitamins and other ingredients. They have different formulations, purposes and considerations.

Does NAD+ reverse aging?

This has not been established. NAD+ plays a role in normal cellular function, but that does not prove that an infusion reverses aging or extends lifespan.

How often should I have treatment?

There is no single schedule suitable for everyone. We consider the reason for treatment, formulation and response before recommending further appointments.

Can anyone have IV therapy?

No. Suitability depends on your medical history, medications and the ingredients being administered. Some conditions may make an infusion inappropriate or require further assessment.

Are there any risks?

Risks include bruising, infection, vein irritation, allergic reactions, fluid overload and ingredient-related side effects. NAD+ infusions can also cause significant adverse reactions. Medical assessment and monitoring are important.

Bring your concern, not a treatment name.

Tell us what you’ve been experiencing and what you’re hoping to address. We’ll review your health and help you understand whether an infusion, further investigation or another approach is appropriate.
